This Start-Up Is Developing Automated Seaweed Farming

This start-up can farm seaweed on a mass scale. It uses an ocean tractor called a SeaCombine, which harvests seaweed from floating farms. The SeaCombine strips out mature seaweed to sow the next crop then transports the harvest back to the farm for processing. Seaweed farming is already a massive industry, but methods haven’t changed in decades. It’s mostly cultivated by hand in shallow water. Sea6 Energy’s technology makes the process quicker, easier and cheaper, and their seaweed can also be grown in deeper waters which are richer in nutrients. Watch to learn more about Sea6 Energy’s seaweed farming technology, including its role in humanity’s future.
