A war thousands of miles away can wreak havoc on an airport, causing closures, cancellations and crew shortages - all against the backdrop of disruptions triggered by a deepening climate crisis. Airports Council International expects 10 billion passengers to fly in 2026. So how do airports keep passengers safe, informed and on track amid these shocks? Here, the heads of two leading global airports, Deborah Flint of Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Jean-François de Saussure of Geneva International Airport Switzerland, share their perspective on what’s required to make travel smoother - from planning and staff preparation to fast communication.
