Daniel Akinmade Emejulu is Head of Global Public Policy and Social Impact at Quside. Prior to Quside, Daniel formed part of the original team that launched Microsoft’s internal United Nations Affairs office in January 2020, serving as a Program Manager based in Geneva, Switzerland. He initially joined Microsoft’s Digital Diplomacy team in 2019. During his time at the company, he developed partnerships with UN agencies, international organizations, and non-profits around the world. He represented Microsoft in technical working groups, policy forums, and served as a peer-elected Co-Chair of the Internet Governance Forum Policy Network on Digitalization and the Environment. He also championed Microsoft’s engagement with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), co-authoring Microsoft's annual report on the Global Goals for three years, a contribution recognized by the UN Global Compact USA “SDG Pioneers” program.
Earlier, Daniel worked with The Global Fund and the United Nations Environment Programme in Geneva. His career started as a Research Analyst at the World Economic Forum, where he worked on environmental sustainability initiatives. Notably, he supported the Global Agenda Council on Sustainable Development, chaired by Amina J. Mohammed, which contributed to the global consultation that shaped what became the SDGs.
His publications and commentary on technology policy, social impact and sustainability have featured in the Financial Times, The Economist Group, Brookings Institution, Chatham House, Business Insider and CNBC Africa, among others. A qualified lawyer, Daniel holds an LLM from Duke University and an LLB from SOAS, University of London. Executive education: Private International Law (The Hague Academy), Environmental Governance (Geneva Graduate Institute), Artificial Intelligence (MIT), and Technology & Policy (Harvard Kennedy School).
Daniel was selected as a 2026–2027 Obama Leader, participating in The Obama Foundation Leaders Europe program. He is one of 35 leaders selected from across Europe and joins a global cohort of 155 changemakers chosen for leadership development through the program.
